Cynthia Crane: Singer, Actress, Recording Artist, Wife to Ted Story, Mother, Grandmother to a 5th generation Native New Yorker, Environmentalist, Preservationist, Emerson College and MacDuffie School for Girls graduate. Backstage “Bistro Award” winner, singing in The Mabel Mercer Foundation’s “The Very First Cabaret Convention”, in clubs up and down the East Coast, working with some of the last of the New England “Big Bands”, touring abroad with the USO, acting in stock and Off-Off-Broadway. With partners, George Ferencz and Ted Story, was founder and producer of the Impossible Ragtime Theater, the IRT, producing 100 plays and building 4 different stages in 10 years. Among the first female Friars, she is ”something of a fixture on the New York Scene”, Jan Wallman’s, Tavern-On-The-Green, Russian Tea Room, 88’s, Dannys’, Don’t Tell Mama, Town Hall, in Paris in French for concerts at the American Embassy, on the Place de la Concorde, the Musée de Montmartre and Pershing Hall. She sits on the MAC Board of Directors (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs)
A dedicated New Yorker, she heads her local block association, the Mulry Angle/West 11th Street, belongs to GVBA (Greenwich Village Block Associations), to GVSHP (Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation) and heads Friends of the Jefferson Market Library Bell (restoring OL’ JEFF’s voice, the 128-year-old bell in the Greenwich Village Venetian Gothic Tower of the Jefferson Market Courthouse Library) . She feeds her passion for clocks by supporting “the Yorkville Clock” (seen with Ray Milland in The Lost Weekend) and serving on the board for Save America’s Clocks; she feeds her passion for the environment through Greenpeace, African Wildlife Foundation, World Wildlife Fund, Grand Canyon Trust, Alaska Conservation Foundation, Wildlife Conservation Society.

Her popular 20 year-old CRANE’S CLARION heralded the Millennium and, along with her PARIS articles, reveals her love of all things French: her life in Montmartre, her dear friends at Cabaret Michou, singing in La Fête de la Musique and living “on the set” for the film Amélie.
